Esophageal Cancer

Case Story Video: Scoring of PD-L1 IHC 22C3 pharmDx in Esophageal Cancer

Professor Bharat Jasani reviews and explains PD-L1 scoring on two challenging esophageal cancer cases. The professor introduces three useful techniques for determining CPS in near-cutoff cases: The Numerator Target Method, the Hotspot Method and the Rolling Method. He then proceeds to illustrate the usefulness of these methods in two esophageal cancer cases.

This case walkthrough focuses on two esophageal cases that exhibit different staining characteristics. The presenter explains how the differences in staining characteristics lead to choosing one scoring technique over another:

  • The first case is assessed using a combination of Hotspot Method and the Rolling Method.
  • The second case is assessed using the Hotspot Method.
